Meditation ( scientifically proven )
Most people in the West have grown accustomed to thrive with bustle and hustles, to fill their lives with activities, people and noise. Many do not even know the art of meditating in silence and solitude. Others see meditation as boring.
Meditation is being recommended on the warmest by Dr. Jon Colbert. He experiences namely meditation as anything but boring.
In 1968,Dr. Herbert Benson and his colleagues at Harvard Medical School, conducted a scientific study of meditation and the study has proven five ( 5 ) major benefits of meditation .
1. The pulse and respiration rate decreased significantly
2. The oxygen demand was reduced by 20 %
3. Blood lactate levels decreased
4. The skin's electrical resistance was four times as high ( a sign of relaxation )
5. EEG- Scanning the brain wave patterns showed increased alpha activity (a sign of relaxation )
Meditation should be simple and you should not think complicated about it .
Meditation consists basically of drawing attention to only one thing at a time and let go of all other thoughts .
Simply speaking, meditation is a " focused thinking."
If a disturbing thought pops-up while meditating , one should not prevent
or consider thinking about it - but instead register it, and immediately let go of it.
Awareness must constantly focus on a word or phrase that you have chosen to focus into and practiced meditation over .
In my case, I always focus on my breath.
Focus on the act of inhaling and exhaling, over and over again.
Til you've feel you are one with your breath, senses and focus.
Once you have practiced meditation long, you will come and experience that while you are in your deepest moments of relaxation, your head so relaxed so is your body so it seems that your head is no longer part of the body ! ....so deeply relaxing! you'll feel the an inner peace...words can't describe the feeling....it just have to be experienced!..Good luck with your meditation:)
You can have meditation music in the background
for example Enya's CD...Paint the Sky with Stars.
