Just proud and happy to be a nurse...

Nursing - a study for life
"Jeg studerer for livet"

The following text are also written at my linked in (https://www.linkedin.com/profile/edit?)

I am one hundred percent permanent employed as nurse at Bergen Kommune -Ytrebygda Homenursing- South dept. And sometimes, as head-nurse  (for both north and south dept.) on evening-shifts.

Engaged as primary nurse for patients at home for the aged in Søreidetunet. I am a person with big capacity, so I also work at the psychiatric post at a nursing home for elderly patients.
My approach in nursing is holistic, thinking that my patient is a unique individual with a story of his/her own. It is important to see the person back the illness. At home-nursing, one has to consider patient's next of kin's (family member) involvement as important in terms of decision making.

Good communication, good nursing-skills, plus the personal factors like respect, emotional stability, physical and emotional endurance, creativity and flexibility, attentiveness, problem-solving skills, interpersonal skills and empathy are important areas a nurse should develop, at all times.

Bergen Community. - my total sponsor and employer.

Proud to become a nurse after trying several times to enter nursing school under the auspices of
Bergen Community. My first try was in August 2000...Rejected three times... accomodated at last in Oct. 2011.  The whole nursing study ( a so called - decentralized nursing study for 4 years at Bergen University College (HIB) was totally sponsored by Bergen Community. I was partly employed by Bergen Community ever since 2005 until 2009 at a nursing home in Bergen City. And since then my career has climbed upward as I've gradually taken the right steps of developing my knowledge and know-how. I was employed (100% position) at Bergen Community - Home-nursing care dept. first as auxiliary nurse in 2009 and became, under a special assignment, a team-leader/internal coordinator for 1 year from 2010-2011. Now as registered nurse from June 2015 up to the present.
