Wonderful weekend (At Bergen Kaffebrenneriet)

Once again, it is weekend. Thank God,
And it is as usual, a family day,
meaning, my children, if not all three of them, at least one, is with me at home !
What a joy!
My eldest, arrived on Friday, and since i don't have a car for 5 weeks now, I couldn't
pick up my son, so he took the "by-banen" and then bus. No problem with that.
And today was indeed a special day considering that Bergen Kaffe Brenneriet, open it's
door for the first time when it comes to serving oven- baked  pizza..

BKB is a small, cozy, almost a family restaurant, on the outskirt
of Bergen, located at the idyllic Marine holmen, almost a stone-cast from my son's work-place, hence
it was my son who introduce us to this wonderful, authentic, down-to-earth place with its nostalgic, vintage atmosphere.
It was indeed wonderful to be there.
Today, they will for the first time serve the customer their oven-baked pizza ! and we looked forward to this day!
My son invited us, he will of course pay the bill, so kind as he always been!
Pizza is being baked in an old tradition way!
We ordered two kinds, both tasted very, very good !

When I entered the  worned out and weary door of this building which was formerly a "bodega" then I knew,
that it was my kind of place,...I can be myself...&  where i can sit down like "laying-back".
The service people and the owners were so friendly and down-to-earth, that's why it felt to be home!
The location is perfect, and not so many people know this place...yet!
The atmosphere was warm and cozy.... vintage and nostalgic. The interior decorated with vintage and old-fashioned advertising picture, so humble and authentic!
One may get the feeling of being in the 1930-1950's? I'm not sure... but it is an old charm, very nice!

We were seated around the humble round table. On one side, where my eldest daughter and her boyfriend were seated, was and old sofa and it looks like to me from 1930's,  and on the other side was an old style, weary brown  leather 3-seaters sofa where my youngest daughter and her b.f. and my eldest (son) were seated, all laid back and relaxed, enjoying!
Myself, like where a real hostess and eldest, should be seated, on my old style red dining chair. probably from 1970's.
Behind  me, was a table where an old stereo turn-table playing a long play record from the 60's. Nostalgic, and wonderful!

Their trademark... own choice of coffee (having their own roastery)
Coffee of the day.... vinyl ! Buy one take 2 cups..
BKB has their own coffee beans and roastery.
You make your order and they grind it for you. So what you get on your cup is a real, freshly roasted coffee!
Oh my God, I was, like a child, looking forward to my first coffee of the day...served on a special cozy cup..
with the information i got from the owner..I decided to order the same cup which they bought from an internet shop....very, very good!
And as expected..the coffee tasted like heavens, I've never tasted so good coffee like this before..
All of us love the taste!
And the price here are okay...kr 30 for two big cups..

The pizza. Konge and Margarita.were the names i remembered and without going in details, both pizza's were very good!  Price? 90 and 100. Each pizza good for 3 people, we were 6 people so we ordered 2. Then since it was so good, we ordered 2 more.

The Baking place. The new oven was installed outside on the end (extreme right of the frontplace of the building).
We decided to see how the oven looked like and saw how they baked the pizza, very cozy indeed!
Since it was cold outside, the  warm oven, provided us warmth and comfort while standing there watching our pizza done and it took  somewhere around 6 minutes to have it done.

It was such a cozy place, there we can relax and enjoy the meal.
An  authentic experience, with a wonderful coffee experience, we felt that as family, we
had once more had a wonderful weekend, and this time, in a new place of interest,
Bergen Kaffe Brenneriet! Here, we are going to be a frequent customer!
I want you to visit the place too !
