As interpreter, I've been working for 3 days now for TV2 for the catastrophe news from my country Philippines.
And it was very difficult for me to act neutral and naturally when i can hear the cries, screams and agony of my own people. It was hard not to be carried away. So it was difficult,  my tears are running down my cheeks, I felt the pain...but at the same time thankful that my family are safe.

But Camiguin Island and Cagayan de Oro City where my family members and relatives are,
are also declared as "calamity areas" so the situation is not under control. Nobody can 100% control natural forces.
The whole of Mindanao provinces are declared as calamity areas.

When i was working in the bank in Cebu City, many years ago,  I had a chance to visit both
Leyte  and Samar  two neighboring places connected by San Juanico bridge.
The two most devastated typhoon calamity areas.

I am thinking about Samar, and i can still remember in detail how the  province look like to me, under a normal circumstance,  it was a lonely place to see!
and i knew when i visited the place
that it was a  place where people shouldn't built a house to live and raise their families.

NOBODY SHOULD LIVE THERE AT ALL, I WAS THINKING!
IT WAS A VERY SAD PLACE, LOOKED VERY ABANDONED!
(But people needs a place to live!)
But for me it was a dreadful sight  I can remember, very sad, the sight has haunted my memory
for many years !
Those thoughts are coming back to me now !

"People can't live here" i thought!  for there was a constant wind gust and the tallest tree i saw during that time was not higher than 6 meters above the ground.
Samar has always been "the typhoon belt" of the Philippine Islands.
And now the worst time has come!
And my heart is crying  with the rest of the filipino people
today!

There is no human strength  that can  withstand and pacify and calm peoples fear and anxieties when it comes to forceful natural disaster like we had just experienced.

Following safety measures and evacuation are things people  should do if they can,
But not all families have the same possibilities.

I have experienced worst typhoon in my life when i was younger, Typhoon Ineng.
It was blowing its gusty wind in 150 km. an hour, but this was a wind blow compared to the typhoon Haiyan.

Filipinos usually turned to God with their prayers for help. And this usually work for them !
It is that amazing!
But things are worth worrying about thinking that a new typhoon (low pressure)
is again
on the way to come !

LET US SAY A PRAYER IN OUR HEARTS AND SEND THEM WITH LOVE. heart

ASAP
as soon as possible

"say a prayer
and send warm thoughts
to everyone."
