An appeal (To all Filipinos)

AN APPEAL ! (To all Filipinos and their extended families)

We Filipinos, as part of our rare practice, without thinking that for the people concerned....fun of using statements that are very hurting like ....

1. Talking to the mother of the child. "Your daughter is pretty" but you the mother is not pretty, who resembled your child in?..

2. A sister pair being compared with each other. A typical filipino comment like this: Straightly on and to one of them. "Your sister is prettier than you !!!"

3. And 1 comment i just discovered latest today..
The remark or comment was made about the photo of twin kids posted on FB. That the kids look really beautiful making their mother look like a "maid" or a house-helper!!! Now the person was trying to lighten up his comment by adding..."a maid of honor!"

I find the whole comment disgusting. Reading such a statement on FB disgusted me, forcing me to post this appeal today hoping to wake us up and change our mindset and stop this ugly and disrespectful and even devastating practice. It is about time that we learn how to communicate and respect each others feelings!

We are acting very stupid for a very long time now, many of us, being thoughtless! I and my daughter has experienced such a distasteful and hurting remark from someone from the Philippines.

And people who are not used on these kind of comments like foreigners are disgusted and shocked! And it should not be used as a joke either. For i never find it funny! In fact it is felt tremendously hurting inside!

I won't discuss psychology here, or bad upbringing! I just want that people starts to think! It is never too late to learn and to change and stop this bad practice of ours!


So to all concerned!... To you who read this plea,...please spread this post! I am appealing! STOP DOING THIS, STOP HURTING OTHER PEOPLE'S FEELING, BE RESPONSIBLE AND GROWN UP, SHOW RESPECT TO YOURSELF AND TO OTHER PEOPLE !
